The quest for the perfect deck

in which I find out it doesn't exist-

I started competing in Beyblade X in December 2025. I immediately fell in love with the game, the people and the tournaments. One thing that has been driving me constantly mad, though, is the art of deckbuilding. There are simply too many options, and I got quickly overwhelmed. So, I had to restrict myself a bit and set some criteria:

1) No Wizard Rods/Shark Scales/Hover Wyverns. I want to compete, but there's simply an overabundance of the same decks, with the same beys, that are often used in the same exact order.

2) I want to have fun rather than winning. I suffer from heavy anxiety, and I want to get rid of it while I compete in Beyblade X.

3) Two attack beys and a stamina/defensive one. I need some sparks in my matches.

Initially, I went with something slightly meta: Emperor Blast H 3-60LR, Clock Mirage 4-55 LO, Golem Rock 1-60R. I quickly realized that this doesn't work for me because it's simply not fun. Emperor Blast and Golem Rock are strong beys, but they feel safe and ultimately boring to me. Clock Mirage is high risk/decent reward, but it just bursts too much and makes me anxious every single time I use it. So I had to take a step back, forget about statistics, and build something else. I'll make it short – here's my shiny not-so-new deck:

bbxdeck

Dran Buster 1-60R, Scorpio Spear 5-70H and Tyranno Beat 9-60K.

Scorpio Spear is a consistent tank. It has high stamina, it's heavy, it's kinda boring but the hexa bit makes it move around the arena a bit. It won't outspin a stamina Rod, but it might get an Over Finish or an Extreme Finish.

Tyranno Beat is just a… cool looking bey. It's a dinosaur. It has decent stamina, it's fairly heavy, and it will attack. I just like that bey, because it's versatile and, as I said, it's inspired by dinosaurs.

Dran Buster is my favourite – it's simply too fun. It's a high risk/high reward glass cannon that's so exciting to launch into the arena. Sometimes it will KO itself, and it doesn't have much stamina, but it consistently knocks other beys out (including top tier beys like Shark Scale).

We'll see how it performs in the next tournaments, and I'll write extensively about those events, but I'll be honest: I'm not too worried about the results. In a highly competitive world, Beyblade X represents something else: a safe space in which I can underperform and still have a lot of fun.
